March 2008 - World Economic Forum Young Global Leader
In March 2008, the World Economic Forum announced that Unitus President and CEO Geoff Davis had been selected as a Young Global Leader for 2008. This honor is bestowed each year by the World Economic Forum to recognize and acknowledge the top 200-300 young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society, and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world.
January 2008 – Second Consecutive Four Star Charity Rating by Charity Navigator
For the second consecutive year, Unitus
has received the prestigious 4-star rating for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator, the nation's
largest and most utilized evaluator of charities. Unitus earned this rating
based on its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances, and the
consecutive honor puts Unitus in prestigious company; only 15 percent of all
charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least two consecutive
4-star evaluations
December 2007 – Fast Company Social Capitalist Award
For the third year running, Unitus received a Social Capitalist Award from Fast Company Magazine for our innovative business model and our mission of fighting global poverty.
November 2007 – Mike Murray one of the Top 10 Most Effective Philanthropists
In the November 26, 2007 issue of Barron’s, Unitus co-founder and board member Mike Murray is featured as one of 10 leading donors who “epitomize thoughtful and effective giving.” Over 100 candidates were considered for the Barron’s special report by Geneva Global, a leading philanthropic advisory firm.
September 2006 – Unitus Named a Best Place to Work in Seattle
Seattle Metropolitan Magazine selected Unitus as one of the 25 Best Places to Work in Seattle. Other winners include Starbucks, Microsoft, REI and Costco. The award recognizes Unitus for its highly supportive work environment and extensive employee benefits.
August 2006 – Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Unitus President and CEO, Geoff Davis, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Pacific Northwest region in the Financial Services category.
September 2005 - Clinton Global Initiative
Unitus received a Certificate of Commitment at the first Clinton Global Initiative meeting in September 2005.
September 2005 - Geoff Davis, 40 Under 40 Winner
Unitus President and CEO Geoff Davis received Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award in recognition of his leadership and entrepreneurial approach to reducing poverty.
